In economically challenged rural communities, high infant mortality rates and poor early childhood health often stem from a lack of post-natal care resources and limited parental awareness regarding infant health. Many low-income parents struggle to afford basic medical check-ups, vaccines, and proper infant nutrition, leaving newborns exposed to preventable illnesses. The Newborn Baby Project was established by ROSA NGO to counter these critical healthcare gaps. The primary purpose of the project is to secure the health and well-being of newborns during their most fragile early days, while empowering parents with critical knowledge.
The project implements its activities by forming strong collaborative linkages with regional maternal health clinics and pediatricians. ROSA NGO coordinates regular field health camps providing free medical screenings, essential infant vaccinations, and vital medical interventions for newborns. Concurrently, the project hosts interactive parental workshops. Field officers and healthcare professionals educate parents on optimal breastfeeding practices, neonatal nutrition, basic infant hygiene, and early symptom tracking. Local community leaders are actively engaged to customize these workshops to the unique cultural and economic contexts of the village.
