In poverty-stricken rural and marginalized urban areas, the ancillary costs of education—such as notebooks, pens, and basic stationery—often force financially strained parents to pull their children out of school. A lack of elementary learning tools severely disrupts the daily educational experience, leading to high dropout rates and fueling generational illiteracy. The Notebook and Pen Distribution Project for Poor Students was initiated to address this educational bottleneck. The overarching purpose of this project is to remove financial barriers to education by providing essential learning materials, creating an encouraging environment for active classroom participation.
ROSA NGO implements this project by collaborating closely with local primary school administrators, teachers, and village leaders to identify the most economically vulnerable students. To ensure cost-effectiveness, the organization procures high-quality learning supplies in bulk from local manufacturers, which also supports the regional economy. Distribution events are strategically organized at the beginning of academic terms, designed as positive, inclusive, and motivational gatherings that celebrate education. Parents and community elders are actively involved to foster shared responsibility for the children’s long-term academic consistency.
The direct impact of this targeted distribution is a sharp increase in regular school attendance and a visible reduction in seasonal dropout rates.
