The Tubewell and Mic Project in Mosque was conceptualized to address two distinct infrastructure challenges in rural and marginalized communities: limited access to safe drinking water and weak community connectivity. Clean water scarcity drives high rates of waterborne diseases, while poor communication tools limit the social cohesion of local neighborhoods. Since mosques serve as the central anchor of the social and spiritual fabric in these regions, this project was initiated to leverage these communal hubs. The primary purpose is to provide a reliable source of clean water while installing public address systems to enhance community engagement, unity, and informational connectivity.
The project utilizes a highly participatory approach, involving local residents, religious leaders, and village committees in every stage of planning and execution. ROSA NGO begins implementation by conducting professional geological assessments and extensive community consultations to pinpoint the most effective and accessible locations for tubewell installation. Concurrently, high-quality public address networks are installed within the mosques to streamline communication during religious events and vital community gatherings. To guarantee long-term viability, field teams establish local management committees and train residents on technical maintenance procedures while exploring renewable energy options for the audio systems.
The direct impact of the tubewell infrastructure is a substantial improvement in overall community health, hygiene, and wellness, achieved by drastically reducing the transmission of waterborne illnesses. On the social front, the newly installed microphone systems facilitate better coordination, rapid information sharing, and stronger unity among local residents during civic and religious assemblies.
